Greetings and Happy 2022! In reflection of 2021, I have a new year to plan for. Last year was pretty good, and I have continuing goals from last year. But here is my list of goals for this year:
* Get all of my medical issues in order. I have a few dental appointments for wisdom tooth extractions and such very soon, and I need to have my wrist examined. I am doing everything I can to stop using a cane. I've used one for years, and I'm tired of depending on it. So it's time to be done with it. I have not used it for the last 6 weeks, and progress is very good.
* Practice more Guitar and Violin. Until I get this wrist issue looked in to, I have to keep it to a minimum. It feels like bone and ligament issues. If it has to be surgically corrected, I will, again, start from scratch and get back to where I am today.
* Take my Tokyo vacation, which has been delayed for 2 years. I need this! And I will be there for about a month, so I can fully enjoy it. Every last detail, down to the 'man meds' and electronics has mostly been taken care of. Suitcase has been packed and on standby since then. I will have to look in to the SIM card for my phone.
* Continue my Gym regimen and maintain my weight. Still working on these stubborn areas, but still very good progress. Arms are already looking good. My weight has basically leveled out, so I'm working the regimen. At this point, I still classify it as physical therapy, to regain the mobility and flexibility I had 15 years ago. I look to do more leg work as soon as the MCL in my knees improves.
* Continue creating music, and seek placement in Cinema and Video Games.
* Publish my 2 volume Cosmology book. It began as a vast compilation of info, and has evolved into a 600 pg reference, but it needs more fine tuning before I consider publishing. I already have 2 trial copies of it in my possession, but it isn't quite ready for full publishing. I will leave that in the hands of the publishing company.
* Maybe buy a Sports Car for my Gym trips. The truck is not very good on gas, but I need something that compliments my lifestyle. I just won't feel right in an econo-sputter car. It also has to have a great sound system. The truck is necessary for inclement weather, but I need something more 'every day' for local driving. The Gym is a 50 mile round trip 2 or 3 times a week, and 1 trip uses 1/4 tank of gas.
* The expensive items will not be done until after my Tokyo trip. I do not want to be cheap or frugal on this, as it is going to be my party time, sightseeing, adventure. It is a Bucket List item, so many things will happen. I do anticipate that someone (she/her) will get completely wrecked while I'm there. I don't know who (no names, no pics, no bragging - what happens in Tokyo stays in Tokyo), but yeah, like I said. I'll be prepared for that too. It's a Bucket List thing. That stuff just doesn't happen here at all.
*Fine tune my Last Will/Living Will before my trip, just in case anything happens. I will print it out, put it in an envelope, and put it on my desk before I depart for my vacation.
* I'll make a bigger effort to work on my vocals. I made a promise to myself that I would, and I will. I'm very, very self conscious of my singing, so anything you hear me sing will have taken a monumental effort.
* I will also work to improve my people skills, as I've been a bit of a hermit since my heart attack and the 5 surgeries/hospitalizations, and multiple physical therapies. I was fat and clumsy, and my self confidence was at rock bottom. The plethora of medications sparked a neurological event which I am still recovering from, but the worst is behind me now. My Fine Motor Skills are still an issue, but I'm still working on that. I've made major progress, but I'm not out of the woods yet.
* I'm also hoping to go on a cruise this summer also. It's time I enjoy the finer things in life, whether I do it alone or with someone.
** I usually tend not to make annual resolutions, but I do like to create a better me as time goes on. Whether they are short term or long term goals, they are what makes us what we are. Try to do everything just a bit better than you did last time. I'm a bit late in the game, but it's never too late to make things better.
3/29/22: A few changes have been made. I no longer drive to the gym as I have a home gym now. I am now at my target weight, so training is more in order now.
As I am presently living in an attic type setting, it has been decided to get estimates on having an addition built on to the house, which will be my new Man Cave. Not trying to be morbid or anything even resembling that, but I will be inheriting the house from my Mother upon her passing. I will continue residing mostly in the addition as it will have it's own bathroom and access doors. It will also be of my own design so it will have an interesting flow to it. I have no trouble creating and reading floor plans and utility layouts. The problem out here is finding a competent and bonded contractor.
