Changing up the Project

Hello again! The last few blogs have been projects I've created in Unity 3D. This time I figured I would change things up a bit and post some other projects I worked on. We'll begin with a few projects I made in Sweet Home 3d. It's an architectural program for designing houses and such. The program is pretty straight forward and intuitive, and more accessories are readily available in the web. Although I have created a few houses, I have also created larger things. I like the challenge of large builds so I decided to create underground bunkers. They have a different requirement than normal housing, and on a few projects I created an above ground house with an underground bunker below the basement.

Here are some shots of that project.

Going from the top down is the 2nd floor (sleeping areas and a Den). the 1st Floor (ground level), Basement/Recreation area, and then the Bunker area underneath the basement. The bunker area is only accessible by a concealed door in the basement. The door would be considered watertight to prevent flood damage/danger. Ventilation would be piped in through an NBC air filter system. Sewage would be pumped up to the basement to join the main drain line. Water would be gravity fed from above, with an alternate deep well system. While it would be connected to the main power, a backup system would be in place. It has all the amenities of the main ground level but smaller in size. With a proper storage, a family could survive for many weeks in lockdown without any real drawbacks.

The 2 pics below are of an 80'x40' underground bunker/shelter designed for a large family or small neighborhood. With one entrance protected by a 2 ton steel door, it is spacious and well equipped. Water is supplied by deep well/cistern completely independent from the grid. Power is provided by a 150k watt generator to all areas, including a PC server and comm equipment. Kitchen is fully functional and roomy as well as the living area. The goal is to make the residents as comfortable as possible, offering amenities beyond normal shelters. It even has an armory/vault area as well as separate restrooms and shower facilities.

And lastly, another super basement complex. It is connected to a smaller basement accessible only by stairs. The door to the extended basement is hidden behind a large bookshelf mounted on hinges to appear stationary, but it swings open into the secret area. The basement is already pretty massive. It's 100'x60' I think. It has a library, computer center, bedrooms, restrooms, full kitchen, storage pantry, and set up to have a cozy feel to it, as it reduces stress of being sheltered in, so psychological conditions have been factored in. The bottom pic also shows the septic/pumping system. The generator room also has an airtight room to confine and ventilate the exhaust and operation vapors. The entertainment area is complete with large TV and a vast library of programs loaded onto the server array.

I have also created a 12 story 80' diameter underground silo type shelter, with all amenities meticulously added such as a pool area, lounge, multiple apartments/condos, maintenance level, ventilation, security, shooting range, recreation areas, vast server farm, vehicle storage, armory, library, a full agricultural level with crops and fish farms, and more. The maintenance level holds 2 250Kw generators, a water treatment system, repair facilities, NBC ventilation air scrubber system, fuel tanks, water tanks, a fully functional clinic, and more. I'm still looking for the pics for this, and will post them when I find them.

OK, I rendered it out. There are incomplete floors, such as the living quarters, which are 3 full floors. Most of the project is complete. The design idea was for 3' thick concrete outer walls and 1' thick floor slabs. All the ventilation and service areas are also designed in, as well as fuel piping, water and sewer piping, electrical panels and junctions, elevators, ventilation, fiber optics, and all other necessary municipal functions.
