Tenge Temple Game Development Project

I figured I'd share one of my most favorite Game Development projects from Tenge Island. I enjoy creating game scenery, but I particularly enjoy making Temples and Shrines. I have a fairly limited set of assets that I can use, but I try to make the best of them. This took me a while to build. The walls on these assets are only visible from one side, so interiors and exterior walls had to be completed separately and match the structure. Aligning the gables and roof to match on the corners was also a detailed task.

This is the start and the basic framework. It's a split level structure where the Princess Quarters is underneath the Temple. It took about 100 floor panels to complete the floors.

This is a partially complete Temple/Palace build. There is no lighting yet as it is still being roughed in at this point. Once I got everything aligned, I decided to add more structure to each corner and add in the Japanese Lanterns for effect. This is what it looked like from the exterior. This is the front of the Temple.

So far the result was good, and I liked the construction. The interior is not done yet so standing inside the Temple is like looking through a 1 way mirror. The interior walls still need to be placed and aligned.

The above 3 pics are the interior of the Temple. The first is a straight up view, looking up through the ceiling of the Temple. The second is an interior view of the entrance, and the third is a general view of the interior walls. It took days of tweaking to get everything properly lined up. For the most part the interior is finished at this point, but the proper lighting has not yet been put in.

At this point I could start working on the back courtyard. It needed a great deal of detail and attention as it is a focal point of the overall project.

The first pic is the courtyard before the details were added. The canopy and lighting have been placed at this point. The second and third pics are the finished courtyard from 2 angles. On the third pic you can see on the left side, the entrance to the Princess Quarters underneath the Torii.

All 9 above pics are from the interior of the Princess' Chambers. All of this is not seen when outside the Temple.

These last 4 pics are of the finished Temple from different angles. The bottom pic is from the one pathway leading to the complex. In this project, there is also a massive Castle Palace as well as a Shrine/Temple complex. So 3 different projects are in this one Island. I really liked how the skybox of the night Moon accented the Temple.

And finally, the centerpiece of the Temple. I called it the Sleeping Moonstone Shrine. It was the stone the Princess slept upon before the Temple was built. It was on this heart shaped pink quartz stone that she had a dream that would change her life :)

I will include the Castle City soon. It is many times larger than this Temple and involves interiors and exteriors where several floors are involved, along with complete buildout on the interiors as well. Along with a the multistory temple, the vast city complex also includes a waterfall, a river system, housing, and a usable MMORPG setting. There is also a massive stairway system, a Koi pond, artwork, and much more.

When I post the pics of the interiors there will be an Easter Egg in one or two of them. I won't say what pic or what it is, but it's there, believe me :)

So until the time I post pics of the Castle/Palace, I thank you for your precious time, and I hope you enjoy my work 😇
